Chapter 39: Endless spring

After logging off at around 4 am, I slept until around 9 am.  It was already late, but it was a good thing that Ling Yue promised to cover for me, so I was not rushed.  After getting out of bed and washing my face, I happily walked out the door.

After arriving at the company, I punched in with my card and when I entered the office, I saw Summer sitting on the sofa.  She held a small cake up to her chest and boasted, “Elder sister Bing Cha, don’t be in disbelief.  I’ve already said it, I’ve seen all kinds of men.  Humph, I am as matured as hard and sparkling stainless steel!”

Bing Cha was speechless, “Last time didn’t you say that you had personally taken care of it?  Why is it an expert now…..”

Summer smiled and explained, “It’s not the same.  For this kind of experience, you have to personally experience it!”

Bing Cha paid no attention to her and just drank her iced tea.

When I walked in, Bing Cha immediately put down the newspaper in her hand.  Then she smiled and said, “Bookworm, you’re finally here!”

I needed and said, “I logged off late last night!”

Bing Cha immediately opened a webpage and said, “Take a look at this, you’re already someone famous in Spirit of Grief!”

I leaned in and was shocked to see a super popular Spirit of Grief forum post.

The post’s name was: Flames of war are flying, the Fated Clan declares war on Easily Angered Bookworm and Gentle Breeze Flying Snow!

The one who made the post was Fated Madman and the contents stated: The upright and just Fated guild had gone to the Ancient Ghost Tomb to level, but they were ambushed by two evil players that exterminated them all and these two players were Easily Angered Bookworm and Gentle Breeze Flying Snow of the level ranking list!  I, Fated Madman pledge that I will make them feel regret and never let them achieve anything in Spirit of Grief!

Following close behind was a bunch of Fated players posts praising Fated’s righteousness as a symbol of justice in Sunset City.  They had made me and Ling Xue seem like the most despicable devils…...

But the rumours were limited to this.  There was even a person that even pointed out, “You Fated members are not clear on what kind of person you are?  Do you think you can change the nature of you dogs just be fanning the flames on the forums?”

However, in the post there was a reply stickied to the top and the one who posted it was Gentle Breeze Flying Snow - Ling Xue!

Ling Xue’s reply was very short and simple, “Everyone can watch the video to see who attacked who first!”

Then there was a video attached.  Opening it up, it was actually the video of me and Ling Xue directing the two groups of monsters to eliminate the Fated players.  Moreover, one could clearly hear the arrogant tone that the Fated players had and it was black and white who was in the wrong.

So the Fated players once again met a crowd of criticism as countless players heroically pointed out how the Fated players had done all kinds of evil deeds in Sunset City.  There were even some players that were protecting the beautiful young miss, Ling Xue.  With this kind of large scale video, Ling Xue’s appearance was clearly shown and with such a beautiful young girl being bullied like this, how could people not be angry!

However, there were also some people that quickly pointed out that Ling Xue’s appearance was 100% like the number one mage, Gentle Breeze Embracing the Moon!

So a storm brewed on the forums and all kinds of speculations flew out.  There were some people that were smart enough to guess that Gentle Breeze Embracing the Moon and Gentle Breeze Flying Snow were twin sisters, or at least sisters.  This was very clearly seen by their ingame names.

The flames of war had been fanned and they had burned me with a blink of an eye.  There were some people that were starting to question what kind of relationship Easily Angered Bookworm had with Gentle Breeze Flying Snow and once again, speculations began to fly out!

I revealed a faint smile.  It seems like that girl Ling Xue did not immediately go to sleep and went to light a fire on the forums.  She really isn’t a peaceful person…...

After she finished watching the video, Summer looked at me with glowing eyes and said, “Bookworm, I never realized it before, but you are actually quite handsome…..”

I looked at her and then decided to ignore her, otherwise she would want more favours.

Right at this moment, a beautiful figure came in through the door.  It was Ling Yue!

Ling Yue was wearing a dress suit and was gracefully standing in front of the Development Department door as she said, “You all came to work?”

Bing Cha respectfully said, “Yes, Director Ling!”

Ling Yue walked in and came right in front of me.  She took out an envelope and pulled out eight one hundred yuan bills as she said, “Bookworm, this is your reward!”

I couldn’t help being a little surprised, “What reward?”

Ling Yue said, “Did you forget?  Last night you gave me a total of 155 gold coins and according to the market price, that is 775 yuan.  Here is 800 yuan, take it!”

I did act politely and reached out to take the money.  This was simply life saving money for me.  Although it didn’t seem like much, the main reason why I came here to work was to make a livelihood!

Ling Yue revealed a faint smile and then took out another envelope from her little bag.  Inside there was an impressive stack of red bills!

When Ling Yue handed the envelope over to me, I couldn’t help being shocked, “Director Ling, what is this for?”

Ling Yue controlled her smile and said with a serious face, “I know that you found a level 35 Silver Grade Roaring Flame Staff last night.  So, I’ve decided to buy it!”

I was a little surprised, “So, Ling Xue already told you……”

Ling Yue said, “Of course, she is my little sister, is there anything she needs to conceal from me?  Here is 5000 yuan which is equivalent to 1000 gold coins.  I know it is a bit too little to buy the Roaring Flame Staff, so I hope you won’t reject this offer…..”

I revealed a smile.  Of course I wouldn’t reject her.  Currently, there were a lot of swindlers when it came to trading equipment and it’s not absolutely safe to sell online.  With this kind of money in front of me, I would be stupid to turn it down.

So I took the envelope and said, “When you log on in the afternoon, wait for me in Sunset City!”

“Un, alright!”

Ling Yue gave a slight nod and then walked out.

The pressure on the Xue Yue Studio’s girls disappeared.  Ling Yue as a director did have quite an aura to her.  When she came to work, she had to act like a director, so everyone could not get close to her and she seemed very lonely.

Perhaps the biggest difference between Ling Yue and Ling Xue was the pressure she had on her shoulders!

In the morning, there was a meeting where we received information and then we didn’t need to work in the afternoon.  Going home to level up would earn them wages, so everyone happily left.

Quiet Rain Fall had spent a whole day on the web and had written a lot of things down.  Then she packed up her things to leave with Zi Yue.

Bing Cha and Summer walked out while chatting and laughing.  I was the last person to leave.  After locking the door, I chased after them to where they were waiting for the elevator.

The Development Department was on the 15th floor, so we had to use the elevator.

When the elevator opened, I found that there were quite a few people in it already.  When the group of girls from our Development Department walked in, it was completely packed.  I stood in the corner with my arms raised, blocking the attack of the Marketing Department’s mature women’s bodies.

However, when I turned around, I was surprised to see someone!

Standing beside me wearing an impressive western suit was the elegant Wang Jun Jie, who was the general manager of the company!  So even he needed to ride in the elevator to go downstairs!

The staff that just walked in looked over and respectfully said, “Manager Wang!”

Wang Jun Jie was very casual and just gave an elegant nod, looking like a leader looking down on the public.

As the elevator was closing, a beautiful figure suddenly appeared.  It was Ling Yue!

Ling Yue looked around and then bit her lips as she decided to push in.  After all, time was precious.

Naturally, Wang Jun Jie raised his hand to greet her, “Ah Yue, over here!”

Ling Yue was a little surprised as she revealed a slightly disgusted face, but the elevator door had already closed and it was too late for her to go out.

The women of the marketing department immediately moved out of the way to make a path for Ling Yue to reach Wang Jun Jie.  With so many people in the elevator, if Ling Yue came over, she could only lean against Wang Jun Jie’s chest for support.

Bing Cha and Summer looked at each other in blank dismay.  Zi Yue did not say anything and just stared on.

At this moment, Ling Yue’s beautiful eyes fell onto me and she immediately revealed a happy expression.  Deliberately walking over and avoiding Wang Jun Jie’s outstretched arms, she walked through the crowd and suddenly lost her balance.  She could not stop herself from falling into my chest!

I was leaning against the wall and the result was that Ling Yue landed into my embrace.  I felt two warm sensations coming from my chest and looking down, I could clearly see Ling Yue’s seductive white valley!

I was immediately stunned.  Ling Xue’s chest could be considered a little rough, but it was definitely real.  The fragrance of a young girl filled my nose and my hands helplessly hung there in the air.

Wang Jun Jie was shocked.  He had an indignant look on his face as he said, “Ling Yue, you……”

Ling Yue gave a gentle snort and silently stayed in my embrace.  She reached out and grabbed my shoulder.  Pulling her beautiful face forward, she whispered in my ear, “Bookworm, thank you…..”

I felt awkward as I said, “No problem, it’s something I should do…..”

Ling Yue’s beautiful face turned red and started to burn.

Wang Jun Jie’s face was the colour of a pig’s liver.  It was known by everyone that Ling Yue of his girlfriend, but at this moment, she was blatantly walking in the arms of another man.  How could he allow this to happen?

But very quickly, Wang Jun Jie showed me why he climbed to this general manager position so easily.  He revealed a natural faint smile and said, “This…...when everyone’s getting off work, the elevators are really crowded.”

Bing Cha and Summer had a serious face and did not reveal any expressions at all.  Zi Yu and Rain Fall desperately held in their laughter.  Those Marketing Department women all said, “That’s right Director Wang, we should add another elevator to the company building!”

Wang Jun Jie nodded, “Un, I’ll consider it!”
