Chapter 105: The love of the seas

Ha, ha, I got to level 30 in one day!

The reason it was so quick was because Ling Xue brought me through the difficult beginning and gave me good equipment.  Adding in the fact that there was the abnormal strength growth rate of the Dragon Whisperer, allowing me to always fight monsters that were ten levels stronger, it would be strange if I didn’t level up quickly.

At this time, Great Priest Ronin grabbed the silver comb as his face filled with longing.  In the end, he turned to look at me and said, “Young warrior, can you…..accept my request?”

I was a bit surprised.  What a joke, this great priest NPC whose level I couldn’t see, he was at least level 70!  What kind of request did this kind of broken person have of me?

So I said in a respectful voice, “Speak!”

Quest details: Talk to Great Priest Ronin and then bring him to the dark ruins.

It seems like I needed to talk to continue the quest.  After thinking about it, I said forget it and logged off to sleep.  It isn’t too late to talk to him after logging back on since Sunset City was around an hour away from the ruins.  Who knows where I would have to go, it wouldn’t be too late to finish this quest after resting my mind!

So I left the NPC there and logged off!

Taking off the helmet, I was very tired.  When I opened the door, I saw a piece of bread on the table and a note beside it, “Sleep after you eat your fill, otherwise it’s bad for your stomach.”

I revealed a faint smile.  I recognize this writing, it was definitely from Ling Xue.  When I met her the first time, the writing on the letter from her was like this, it was very delicate!

Opening the fridge, I poured a cup of yogurt and then ate the bread.

After I finished, I was around 30% full.  It was good enough, so I rubbed my belly and went back to my room to sleep.

I let out a sigh, “When can I also……”

When I came out, Ling Yue, Ling Xue, and the other girls were waiting.  Dinner was quite rich, it was said to come from restaurants of respective regions.

Summer asked, “Bookworm, I can’t even see a trace of you.  Want to level together tonight?”

Ling Yue’s eyes turned cold as she softly asked, “What do you mean?”

Wang Jun Jie explained, “With the economic crisis, our company’s funds are getting tighter.  You also know this, so I want to reduce the capital of Xue Yue Studios and the best way is to get rid of members.  The first one to be fired should be Easily Angered Bookworm.  Our Xue Yue Studio doesn’t need this low level player!”

Ling Yue’s face was cold as she said word for word, “I make decisions in Xue Yue Studios, you shouldn’t interfere”!

Ling Xue on the side couldn’t take it anymore.  She snatched Ling Yue’s phone and angrily said, “Wang Jun Jie!  You trash, how could dad let someone like you manage the company?  Stop having ideas about Bookworm or I’ll sweep you out of Blue Star!”

Wang Jun Jie was surprised before saying, “Is that Ling Xue?  Have you been well lately?”

“Very bad!”

Ling Xue gritted her teeth and smashed the phone on the table.  The newly bought phone was smashed and the battery shattered in the distance!

Ling Yue was speechless, “Xue’er, are you buying my next phone?”

Ling Xue calmed down and said with a faint smile, “Alright, I’ll buy you the cheapest local phone…..”

Ling Yue gave a bitter laugh, “Alright, as long as it’s not trash and can make calls, it’s fine.  Also help me change my card……”

After saying this, Ling Yue turned to me and said in an apologetic voice, “Bookworm, that…..Sorry, I didn’t know that Wang Jun Jie would be this excessive……”

I said with a sigh, “Doing things depend on other people, I’m already used to this.  Ling Yue, you don’t need to apologize to me.”

Ling Yue looked at me like she was a bit lost before suddenly saying, “You don’t need to worry about others at Xue Yue Studios…..”

Appearing in Sunset City’s royal palace, Great Priest Ronin had a look of hope in front of me.  Good fellow, I logged off for eight hours and he was still here after all that time!

“Young man, can we set off?”  Ronin’s face was filled with joy.

I nodded, “Let’s go!”

Ronin gave an order to the mages behind him, “Come with me!”

I was a bit surprised.  I couldn’t see the level of these magician NPCs, so I didn’t know what level they were.  But if they came along, at least we didn’t need to worry about the monsters in the ruins!

So when I came out of Sunset City, Great Priest Ronin and five high level mages followed me out.  The players outside the city leveling were all shocked as they looked over and said, “Damn!  Aren’t those the old magician fellows in Sunset City’s royal palace?  Why did they come out of the city?”

I had my name hidden, so no one knew who I was.  Unless these people attacked me, my name wouldn’t be shown.  Of course, I looked like an expert with my black armour, so people wouldn’t have thought that I was only at level 30!

Dragon Soul, Ghost Fire, and Heavenly Punisher logged on at this time.  They all tried to comfort me after I reached level zero, but it seemed like I was comforting them.  Purple Rhyme hadn’t logged on yet, I didn’t know what she was busy with today.

Passing through the player dense training area, I came to the edge of Hero Memorial Park and walked along the edge of the Forgotten Valley to reach the ruins.  This path was quite covert, so not many people noticed us.  After all, it was normal for NPCs to leave the town.  In the large framework of this game, Sunset City’s cavalry would attack the dark forces around the area, so most times people weren’t surprised. 

After close to an hour, I came out of the groves with my spear and there were the dark ruins with black crows filling the sky!

There was a moon that hung on the horizon that lit up the ground, making these ruins seem even darker!

Ronin held his white jade staff and suddenly trembled.  He fell into deep thought and only said in a mournful voice after a while, “This…..Is this really the ancient capital?  Kalan Kingdom, it really became ruins……”

A magician on the side said, “Master Ronin, could it be that this is the former site of the Kalan Kingdom that you swore your loyalty to?”

Ronin nodded as he said in a deep voice, “I was only nineteen that year and followed my teacher to experience the continent.  I never thought that in just a few decades, the Kalan Kingdom would disappear from the continent and the terrifying beings from hell have already destroyed this glorious kingdom.  When I came back, people had already built a new city, which was Sunset City……”

The magician said in a surprised voice, “So you stayed behind and gave your loyalty to Sunset City’s king?”

“Un”.”  Ronin’s voice was a bit dry and listless, “Who would have thought that a hundred years later, what awaits me is a patch of ruins and my beloved has already turned to dust…..”

At this time, there was a figure that approached, which was a Dark Swordsman charging over.  We were too close, so the monsters had found us!

Out of fear of the NPC magicians dying, I quickly came forward.  My Bloodthirsty Spear lit up with a Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers and took away a third of the Dark Swordsman’s HP!

But Ronin’s voice came from behind, “Don’t hurt it!  Theses were the brave warriors of the kingdom, we should put their souls to rest!”

As he said this, Ronin raised his staff and chanted, “In the name of justice, clear all dirt away!  Seal of Redemption!”

“Shua!”

A golden beam of light fell from the sky and landed on the Dark Swordsman.  The Dark Swordsman trembled in the golden light and its HP bar quickly drained, emptying in less than half a second!

“Hua la!”

A gold coin fell to the ground and my experience bar increased!

Damn!  I’m about to be rich!

I was a bit surprised.  So this quest was the NPCs killing mobs to give me exp?

Picking up the gold coin, I saw the Dark Swordsman turn into white bones before being buried in the swamp!

After that, something that made me delighted happened!

The five magicians started attacking the surrounding Dark Swordsmen and it was the same Seal of Redemption.  This amazing skill directly killed the Dark Swordsmen, not leaving a single one!

My experience kept jumping up and I reached level 31 in the blink of an eye.  In less than ten minutes, I already reached level 32 and the gold and equipment dropped by these Dark Swordsmen were all kept by me.  What was even rarer was that I even got three pieces of the level 30 Dark Set!

Half an hour later, I reached level 33.  At this time, the large ruins had been cleared.  I didn’t know if this quest was a bug, but I had earned a large amount!

In the end, Ronin led the five magicians to the center of the ruins.  Seeing the diary on the ground, Ronin trembled and his tears came out.

At this time, there was a light that bloomed and Princess Linda appeared again, but she wasn’t as big as before, she was only at Ronin’s shoulder.

The five magicians were surprised, “It’s…..It’s…..It’s the soul of the princess!”

Ronin trembled and he couldn’t help falling to one knee, “Greetings to your highness!”

Princess Linda revealed a faint smile and came in front of Ronin, sinking down in front of him.  She said with a smile, “Little magician Ronin, you already grew a long beard, hee, hee…..”

But Ronin couldn’t smile.  He looked at Princess Linda and bitterly said, “Your highness…...Roning shouldn’t have left you at that time.  If I didn’t leave, you wouldn’t have met this disaster!”

Princess Linda was a bit lost as she reached out her hand, “Ronin, can I…...touch your face?”

Ronin’s voice choked up.  Linda’s little hand stroked Ronin’s old cheek with a sparkle, but she couldn’t touch anything.

Ronin couldn’t help crying.  He walked out and roared into the sky, “Why is it like this……”

Linda finally stopped smiling as two lines of tears appeared on her face.  She muttered, “Ronin, Roning, can we still be together?”

Ronin shook his head and sadly said, “Can we?”

Princess Linda took several steps and came behind Ronin, but her form went right through Ronin!

“Pu……”

Princess Linda fell to the ground and her eyes were filled with tears.

When Princess Linda stood up again, her face was filled with determination as she muttered, “Perhaps it’s finally time to return to the earth……”

Ronin quickly came forward and held Princess Linda in the air.  Although he knew that this was futile, he still did this.  In the end, Princess Linda turned over and put her head at Ronin’s neck.  She cried while smiling and said, “If this moment could last forever, how good that would be……”

A determined look appeared on Ronin’s face as he suddenly looked at me.
